Hand your company taxes to a Grok Bot: 20+ hours down to under 2

Result

self-reported

Company taxes went from 20+ hours two years ago to under 2 hours: about 30 minutes of setup, then 30–45 minutes of the bot working, including 3,000 credit card and 1,000 bank entries categorized.

Rick Manelius set up one Grok Bot agent called “Company Taxes,” connected it to his company Google Drive, email, Xero and Slack, and gave it his Chase statement exports and the CPA’s questions. It sorted the entries, asked him a few categorization questions, built a full packet of answers and reports, and later pulled answers to the CPA’s two follow-ups from his 2021 and 2022 returns.

Try it now

  1. Create one Grok Bot agent just for taxes (Rick named his “Company Taxes”).
  2. Connect where the paper trail lives: your drive with last year’s tax docs, business email (PDF receipts), your accounting software and team chat.
  3. Upload a full export of your bank and credit card statements plus your CPA’s list of questions.
  4. Ask for a categorized ledger and an answer packet. Answer its clarification questions, then send the packet to your CPA, who still reviews and files.

You are my company tax prep assistant for tax year [year]. Use [Google Drive folder with prior returns], [business email], [accounting software] and the bank/card exports I uploaded. 1) Categorize every transaction into [my chart of accounts]; list anything you’re unsure about as a question for me instead of guessing. 2) Answer each of my CPA’s questions below, citing the exact document or transaction you used. 3) Produce one packet: categorized totals, open questions, and answers. Do not file, pay, or email anyone. My CPA’s questions: [paste].

What to watch out for

Your CPA still reviews and files; the bot prepares, it doesn’t sign. Have it cite the source for every answer and flag guesses as questions. Rick’s hours are his own estimate. Build it with Page: a private “tax packet” page where your bot drops the ledger and answers for your CPA.
