Have Claude audit your ads against your CRM instead of paying an agency

self-reported

He fired a $5,000 a month ad agency and had Claude audit his ads tied to his CRM. Cost per lead dropped from $20 to $60 last year to under $10, and cost per qualified sit is now about $250 to $300, down from $500 to $600.

Bennett Maxwell sells franchises through his company. On the ClockedIn podcast he said the first cost he cut was his ad agency at $5,000 a month. The agency never tied each ad to the CRM, so he only knew cost per conversion overall. He had Claude walk him through connecting his ad account and CRM, and from day one he could see which ad was working instead of which franchise brand. It now audits itself at the end of every week. He also runs Penny, a Grok Bot agent that checks his email every 2 hours and is supposed to send 10 personalized pitches to get him on podcasts. Penny booked this interview, and he says it costs about $5 a month in usage.

Try it now

  1. Ask Claude to walk you through connecting your ad account and your CRM with read-only access.
  2. Have it match every lead in the CRM back to the ad it came from.
  3. Ask for cost per lead and cost per qualified appointment for each ad, not just the account total.
  4. Have it list what’s working and what isn’t, and pull your top competitors’ ads for comparison.
  5. Set a weekly audit so it reports what changed and what to pause or scale.
Copy-paste prompt
Using my ad account [platform] and my CRM [name], match every lead from the last 90 days to the ad that produced it. For each ad, show spend, leads, cost per lead, qualified appointments that showed, and cost per qualified appointment. Rank the ads best to worst on cost per qualified appointment. Tell me which to pause, which to put more money into, and what the winners have in common. Don’t change anything in the ad account. Repeat this every [Friday] and show what changed since last week.

Make it run every week

A play works once. Turn it into a routine in three small steps:

  1. Run it once and check the result yourself.
  2. Give your AI a schedule. Tell it when to run this play (every week, or every month) and to message you with what it found before you act.
  3. Keep a log. One line per run: what was checked, anything flagged, what you did.

What to watch out for

As reported in a podcast interview; the numbers are his own estimates. Start with read-only access to your ad account so the bot can’t change spend. Cost per lead can mislead, so judge ads by qualified appointments that show up. Build it with Page: a landing page for each ad you test.
