moe (@Farhatmoe) is an entrepreneur and inventor. A couple of months ago he fired the CPA firm that was charging him $12,000 a year for bookkeeping and handed the same work to Grok Bot. In a few hours it closed out four months, June to September, down to the cent, and the total cost was $5 in tokens. His point: productivity and savings look different once you actually measure them.
Who did it
Try it now
- Write down what you pay for bookkeeping each year, and exactly what you get for it (monthly close, reconciliations, reports).
- Give a Grok Bot the same inputs your bookkeeper gets: bank and card statements, invoices and receipts, plus your chart of accounts.
- Have it close one month and reconcile every account to the penny. Then compare its result with your bookkeeper’s for that same month.
- Only switch after a couple of months match, and keep a CPA for tax returns and anything you’re unsure about.
Close the books for [month] for my company. Inputs: bank and card statements [files], invoices and receipts [folder], chart of accounts [link]. Categorize every transaction, reconcile each account to the statement balance to the penny, and give me a short close report: balances, anything unreconciled, and questions for me. Track how long it takes and what it costs in tokens. Don’t post to [accounting software] until I approve.
Make it run every week
A play works once. Turn it into a routine in three small steps:
- Run it once and check the result yourself.
- Give your AI a schedule. Tell it when to run this play (every week, or every month) and to message you with what it found before you act.
- Keep a log. One line per run: what was checked, anything flagged, what you did.
What to watch out for
Self-reported in a short post, with no detail on the size of his books or how he checked the work. Run it side by side with your bookkeeper before you cancel anything, and keep a CPA on taxes. Build it with Page: a services page for the work you do now that admin takes less time.
