self-reportedTwo hours of weekly busywork became one hour of training the first week and about 10 minutes the next, on a $30/month X subscription.
JoshFL runs a small, licensed firearms business on his own. Instead of spending two hours on busywork, he spent an hour showing his Grok Bot how to do it. The next week the same job took him about 10 minutes. He says the bot learns the task the first time and keeps doing it until it’s done, and his $30/month plan has had plenty of room for the training.
Who did it
Try it now
- Pick one repeating admin task that eats an hour or two every week.
- Do it once with the bot watching: explain each step, where the files live and what “done” looks like.
- Have the bot write the steps down as its own checklist and fix anything it got wrong.
- Next week, ask it to run the checklist and only check in for decisions.
- Once it runs clean twice, move to the next task.
I want to hand you a task I do every week: [task]. I’ll walk you through it now. Ask me questions as we go about where things are, what the rules are and what a finished job looks like. When we’re done, write the steps as a checklist you’ll follow next time, list anything you’ll need me to approve, and tell me how long you think it will take. Next week, run the checklist and only interrupt me for decisions.
Make it run every week
A play works once. Turn it into a routine in three small steps:
- Run it once and check the result yourself.
- Give your AI a schedule. Tell it when to run this play (every week, or every month) and to message you with what it found before you act.
- Keep a log. One line per run: what was checked, anything flagged, what you did.
What to watch out for
Self-reported from his own post. Keep anything regulated, legal or money-related as approve-first. The first week costs time; the payoff is week two onward.
