self-reportedOver $15k spent on subscriptions found across 2+ years of business and personal card statements. Over $5k of it was tied to things she doesn't use or need. She cancelled the auto renewals: over $3k on her business credit card and just shy of $2k on her personal one.
Kristi Faltorusso runs her own customer revenue consulting business. Before 2027 she exported more than two years of credit card statements from her business and personal cards and had Claude audit her tech spend. Most of the subscriptions were set to renew between December 2026 and March 2027, so she logged in and cancelled the auto renewals and auto payments herself. She also found a few to downgrade and some she plans to build herself before turning them off.
Who did it
Try it now
- Export at least 12 months, ideally 2 years, of statements from every card you use.
- Have the AI list every recurring charge with what it is, how much and when it renews.
- Mark each one: use it, don't use it, or could downgrade.
- Log in and cancel the auto renewals yourself, starting with the ones renewing soonest.
- Put a reminder on your calendar to run the same audit every year.
Here are my last two years of card statements. List every subscription with the amount, how often it charges and the next renewal date, and total what I spent on subscriptions. Then sort them from most to least likely to be unused so I can decide what to cancel.
Make it run every week
A play works once. Turn it into a routine in three small steps:
- Run it once and check the result yourself.
- Give your AI a schedule. Tell it when to run this play (every week, or every month) and to message you with what it found before you act.
- Keep a log. One line per run: what was checked, anything flagged, what you did.
What to watch out for
Self-reported from her own post, and part of the savings was on her personal card. Statements hold sensitive data, so use an AI tool you trust with it and remove card numbers first. Safer version: let the AI read statements and do the cancelling yourself. Build it with Page: a simple internal page that lists every tool you pay for, who uses it and when it renews.
