Darius Gaynor, founder of SumoGrowth Labs in Tampa, gets a steady stream of cold emails from SaaS and AI companies trying to sell to him. He connected Grok Bot to his Google business email and flipped it: the bot auto replies to those pitches offering to promote them in his AI insights Substack newsletter, with promotion on his Instagram pages, his subreddit and his directory inside SumoLevel. He says it got its first $1,000 sale.
Who did it
Try it now
- Write down what you can sell to a company: a newsletter mention, a social post, a directory listing, with prices.
- Connect the bot to your business email and have it spot cold sales pitches from companies selling to your audience.
- Have it draft a short, friendly reply offering your promo package with one link to book or pay.
- Approve the replies yourself at first, then let it send the ones that match a template you've approved.
- Log every reply and sale so you can see which pitches turn into sponsors.
Find cold sales emails in my inbox from SaaS and AI companies. For each, draft a short reply offering a promo package in my newsletter (audience, price, link). Don't send anything until I approve it.
Make it run every week
A play works once. Turn it into a routine in three small steps:
- Run it once and check the result yourself.
- Give your AI a schedule. Tell it when to run this play (every week, or every month) and to message you with what it found before you act.
- Keep a log. One line per run: what was checked, anything flagged, what you did.
What to watch out for
Self-reported in a short X post: one $1,000 sale. He also sells AI systems and automation, so this is his own audience business. Only offer promotion you'd stand behind, label sponsored posts, and keep replies polite so you don't get flagged as spam. Build it with Page: a simple sponsor page with your audience numbers and prices, so the bot can link one place.
