David runs a UGC content business making videos for DTC brands. His week was slow, so instead of waiting for new inbound, he had Claude help him go through his old collaborations from roughly the past year. He then reached back out to past clients to ask about upcoming needs. The whole process took him around 10 minutes, and a few of those conversations turned into more than $2,500 in new work. His takeaway: past clients are some of the warmest leads you have.
Who did it
Try it now
- Export or paste a list of past clients and projects from the last year.
- Ask the AI to sort them by who is most likely to need work again.
- Have it draft a short, personal check in for each one.
- Edit and send them yourself.
- Note who replies and set a reminder to check in again next quarter.
Here are my past clients from the last year and what I made for each. Rank them by who is most likely to need new work soon, and draft a short personal check in for each that mentions our last project. Don't offer discounts.
Make it run every week
A play works once. Turn it into a routine in three small steps:
- Run it once and check the result yourself.
- Give your AI a schedule. Tell it when to run this play (every week, or every month) and to message you with what it found before you act.
- Keep a log. One line per run: what was checked, anything flagged, what you did.
What to watch out for
Self-reported in a short post, and the AI helped sort and write, he still sent the messages himself. Keep each note personal, not a mass blast. Build it with Page: a simple portfolio page to link in every check in.
